Ice Silk Pet Cooling Mat

When the summer heat hangs around, your dog or cat goes looking for the coolest spot in the house. This mat gives them one they can always find. The ice-silk top has a cool-feeling touch when they lie on it, and underneath is a breathable mesh. It needs no electricity, no water and no refrigeration, so there's nothing to plug in, fill or freeze. Lay it on the floor or their favourite resting spot, or pop it in their own bed so they stay in a spot they already know (bed not included).

Good to know: the mat isn't refrigerated and won't cool the room. It gives your pet a surface that feels cooler to the touch than a regular bed or blanket.

How to choose: measure your pet lying down and stretched out, from nose to the base of the tail, and pick a mat a little longer than that. If they're between sizes, go up a size.

Use and care

• Lay the mat flat on the floor or wherever they like to rest, or pop it in their own bed so they stay in a spot they already know. Choose a size that sits flat inside the bed (the bed isn't included).
• Some pets take a day or two to get used to a new surface. Putting it where they already sleep helps.
• Keep it out of direct sun. A mat sitting in the sun warms up like any fabric.
• Shake off loose fur and wipe or wash it clean when needed.
• Supervise chewers. It's a fabric mat, not a chew toy, so remove it if your pet starts chewing or tearing it.
• The mat is a comfort product. It isn't a substitute for shade, fresh water and a cool place to rest on hot days.
